Home-Start Colchester Tendring and Suffolk

Home-Start is a network of Home-Start schemes, each scheme is an independent charity providing a service to support local families.

Home-Start schemes are embedded into the community providing bespoke services to support vulnerable families of all nationalities in their local community. Home-Start services work alongside maternity and other local organisations and can offer assistance for local families with children under 11 years.  We respond to needs such as isolation, poor mental health, parenting, ill health, poverty.

Home-Start’s expert staff and trained volunteers work alongside families to give non-judgmental, compassionate, and confidential support.

Home-Start Colchester Jaywick and Clacton- Covering Colchester and South Tendring offer:

• Parents2B groups delivered across Colchester and Tendring for pregnant parents offering peer parent support, workshops and information.
• Hungry Little Minds groups- Early years group in both Colchester and Tendring.
• Activities for young people who may not otherwise be able to access mainstream activities.
• Home visiting in the family’s own home offering bespoke support and peer parent volunteers
• DOT Donate And Take baby preloved baby clothes.
• Distributor of Household fund.
• Information and guidance.
